The boat-tails are easier to load than flat base as the base centers itself into the neck. Same weight bullets should start with the same powder charge so any 55 data you have will be good. The FMJ-BT normally will not be as accurate as a flat base varmint bullet but good enough for plinking.

BT are tiny bit easier to load.
Most 55gr .223 FMJs will be BT.
I have some sample .223 bullets I could send PIF if your interested.
(along with some 9mm bullets)

1-9 bolt action. thanks for the bullet offer above. I may take you up on that.

Just a note, those are plated bullets and not bracketed. The swaged lead core does normally for the pressures and velocity bracketed FMJ will.

Those bullets are just fine for plinking and range fun. You will see no advantage with a BT base at those distances but they are easier to load.

If you are looking for bullets you can push to full pressures without breaking the bank check here: http://rmrbullets.com/shop/bullets-...m-7/224-5-56-55-gr-rmr-fmj-boat-tail-new-100/

wow-Thanks! I just got home from the local store and they wanted 13cent for a fmj-bt 22cal bullet. RMR beats them by a lot in the 500round areas.

I just got 100 of them to try because I haven't shot anything else but V MAX out of my rifle as it was mainly just a woodchuck coyote gun. now I will doing more target work so need something cheaper.
