I beg your indulgence if I am asking an already answered question. How much will accuracy be affected by bullets that are 1 or 2 grains overweight or underweight?

Thanks cheygriz. I appreciate the reply and info. Question was asked because I have a reloader friend who gave me some 44 mag bullets he purchased and after receiving them, he discovered the weights of the varied 2 to 3 grains high and low.

That is acceptable variance in .44 / .45 cast bullets.

YOU WILL NEVER KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

I would expect better in jacketed bullets.
But again you would never know the difference.

I go +/ - 3% on handgun boolits , rifle I get pickier. Also with hunting ammo I get titer with tolerances with the handgun boolits.

But as 243wxb posted , the very first thing I check after they drop from the mold is dia. & since sluggin the bores of my rifles I even check the dia. of store bought copper condomed bullets!
