First off, I don't like stickers on my car... it's bad enough my employer forces me to have one in order to use the parking garage. However, I do have a rather innocuous black on white "Criminals Prefer Unarmed Victims" on my (white) car. It gets the point across without seeming confrontational.
As a side note, I haven't been tail-gated for more than five consecutive seconds since I put in on. I figure five seconds is how long it takes for the message to "come together" after being read.

BTW, this is my second such sticker on my second white car. I am quite fond of the combination.
