1. Assume it's loaded
2. Never point it at something you don't want to shoot
3.

Oh nevermind, you're burglars. Carry on.

Oh, great armed teenage burglers. (just what we need) At least one shot the other and kept the home owner from having to deal with emotional trauma.

advertisementA Cochise County teen who's facing second-degree-murder charges accidentally shot his friend after they broke into a Hereford home Friday morning, according to information released by the Cochise County Sheriff's Department Tuesday morning.
Nicholas Michael Murphy, 16, remains at the Cochise County jail on a $250,000 bond.
Murphy told detectives during an interview that he and Josh Olson, 16, were in a residence in the 2800 block of Homestead Road in Hereford, which is between Sierra Vista and Bisbee, when they found a shotgun, the release says.
The shotgun accidentally discharged, striking Olson, it says.
Further investigation revealed the two teens had broken into the house.
Murphy was charged as an adult with second-degree murder in connection with his friend's death. He also faces burglary and trespassing charges, according to the release.

One less scumbag to worry about.

Teenagers and Adults

Armed teenagers? Over here in Minn uh so tah most everytime we hear about a shooting, the perp is a teenager. Makes sense anyway ... the older ones either grow out of it or become serial killers. Not sure that these types are well known for obeying any rules, much less the 'four rules'.

As an aside, my dad always used to tell me that if an older person points a gun at me I might be able to talk my way out of it, but if a teenager points a gun at me I'm going to die. In his lowly opinion a teenager was less likely to think about the ramifications, more likely to act rashly, more likely to be driven by passions.

Either way, somebody points a gun at me I'm going to take the threat at face value. "Self defense doesn't discriminate against age."

The shotgun accidentally discharged

so , apparently the youth didn't have anything to do with it , like having his finger on the trigger?

Wonder if there's gonna be a civil trial against the homeowner for having a loaded unsecured gun , that caused the death of a poor confused youth .

Probably spend 4-5yrs in juvie, then cut loose with a sealed record. Especially with the shooting being an "accident". I would rather doubt he being tried as an adult at 16. :cuss:

It's amazing how many guns will accidentally discharge when you pull the trigger. Almost as if they were designed to do that or something. Strange.

Now there is only one teen on his way to a nice career in criminal activity.

You mean...

Treat every weapon as if it was loaded.

Never point a weapon at anything you are unwilling to shoot.

Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until your ready to fire.

Keep your weapon on safe until your ready to fire.:neener:

Of course they don't know that..

About the same chance of there being a civil trial against someone who's car was stolen and then used in a hit and run.
