I saw an article about the ".22 Auto Ultimate Clip Loader" on the Gun Blasts site and figured I, or rather my girlfriend, had to try it. She likes to shoot my Mark 11 to work on her technique and usually shoots several hundred rounds per session. However this gives her the "Ruger Thumb" from loading the factory steel magazines.
The way this thing works is that you pour some loose rounds into the box on one end of this thing and shake it. The rounds fall nose down into a channel that feeds into a slot where the magazine is placed. The mag button is pulled down by inserting it into the slot and the rounds fall right into the magazine. It is truly slick and quick. The last round doesn't always fall into the mag now, but the instructions tell how to adjust it. I have only seen it from a distance because someone else has no intention of turning loose of it. She went through 400 rounds much quicker than normal and her hand didn't hurt.
I really recommend this thing to anyone who needs to get more rounds through their Ruger in less time. I got mine at Brownells.

Everyone with a Ruger or Browning needs one of these. They really are that cool.

I'm not sure if i would want one, i would go bankrupt with one,:what: it is bad enough owning a buckmark it eats ammo a hole lot faster than my dads single shot.

I bought an Ultimate Clip Loader about two years ago, just a week or so after I bought my MKIII. I paid around $23 S&H for it and in hindsight would gladly pay double for one.

Any idea why they are calling a magazine a clip?

Does look cool though. I thought they were gimmicky but from a couple of the previos posts it sounds like it might be the real deal.

the ultimate magazine loader doesn't have the same ring to it as ultimate clip loader, besides it is semantics anyway

and just to let you know they are the real deal, I swear buy them and have so in many other places

Anyone know if this will work with a S&W 22a magazine? I have that along with a Mk III 22-45 and it would be nice if it worked with both since I tend to shoot the 22a more because it had the red dot mounted.

Years ago, I was afflicted with Ruger thumb, and took some scrap lath and my Swiss knife.

I made a box, about 1X 1 1/2 X 1, open at top and bottom, so a Ruger mag would just slip through. On one side, on the inside face of the lath, I did a little inletting to allow the mag button to enter and be captured. I glued and clamped it.

It's not quite as fast as the Ultimate Clip Loader, but you can carry it in your pocket when afield, and you can make versions for any button-type magazine you might own.

I purchased a tool similar to the one described above for $3 to load my MK II,then I ran across a multi tool for the MK II from Brownell's. it's a mag loader, has a hook for take down and 2 screw driver blades for adjusting the rear sight. was $12 at the time.

Anyone know if this will work with a S&W 22a magazine?

Will not work with S&W M22A or Beretta Neos mags. Its the reason we shoot the Rugers and Buckmark the most.

I got one from Cheaper Than Dirt a few weeks ago, with two magazines and someone else to load, you can shoot [slow&aimed] until you run out of ammo or get bored. Now I'm not sure why I bought extra MKIII magazines.

I'd buy one for our other 22LR pistols if it was for sale, I'm tempted to swap other 22LR pistols for UCL-compatible ones as it is.

If you own a Ruger MK you owe it to yourself to get one of these. It also works with my High Standard Dura-Matic.
