I am in the process of putting together a varmint/target rifle in 22-250.

I have been looking at various optics for my rife and I was wondering if anyone had experience with the Burris black diamond scopes? particularly the 4-16?

thanks!

I hunting buddy has one on a 7mm stw for 7 or 8 years an its been very good scope with great dawn and dusk visibitly. His is a 4-16x50mm model

I actually used to have a Rem 700 22-250 w/ a Burris Black Diamond 4-16 scope on it. Imagine that. The rifle & scope was too heavy for lugging around in the field but other than that it was pretty good. The scope was great for targets & varminting however I wasn't super impressed with it's low light capability. Never met a Burris that I was, though...

I guess i should say I use a simmon atec 3.8-14 and have shoot deer out to 400 yards on a custom 7 rem mag and its from there first year of that model . I was going to replace it when I built my rifle but can't seem to replace it after it shot 2" groups at 400 yards. I have no reason to "upgrade" as it has worked very well in very low light for the last 14 years.
