Anyone know why Natchez does not sell to Alabama, Georgia, or Tennessee?
The story that I've heard is that they are a distributor as well as mail order house, and their storefront clients are in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. To avoid competing with their downstream dealer network, they don't do mail order in those states.

Or something like that.

I had a recent production Banner. Paid $99. That was about $98 too much. The reticle became canted after the first time shooting with it. I'm pretty handy (ASE Master Tech and all), so I figured I'd take a crack at fixing it myself. I was shocked at the shoddy materials used on the internals of that scope.

I could have fixed the reticle, but was so disgusted by that scope that I threw it away instead. Never again.

Just my experience. Bushnell might make some good scopes but that wasn't one, IMO.

Bushnell makes some really good scopes, and some very shoddy scopes. Their Elite line is very good. I personally have been seriously underwhelmed by any of their offerings below the Elite line though.

I'm not a huge fan of the Banner line, id go for a simmons prosport, even with the crappy glass, before getting a banner unless it was really cheap.

I had 4 of the Banner 4-16x40s or cf500 (got them on sale at Walmart for 29something on closeout), and while they have decent glass, and 3 worked fine, one fogged up after one outing in the rain.

I've had 4 or 5 trophy's over my shooting life, all had adequate glass, but functioned very well. They have all moved on either with guns, or given to folks to replace worn, bad, or broken scopes.

I've also given away the 3 elites I've had to friends, as when they came looking for glass, those were not attached to rifles at the time. All 3 are still on the respective rifles as far as I know....I'll see two of them next Saturday.

I currently have two ultra HDs, and those are imo close to as good as the elites, at least optically. I'd like to try a Trophy Xtreme, might grab one before they are phased out completely.

I currently use Leupold American Marksman 3-9x40mm and Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn AO 6-18x50mm for reference accuracy shooting with 9mm/40S&W/45ACP carbines and .223/.300 BLK out to 300 yards (current limit of my shooting area but working on 600 yard location) - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...-marksman-3-9x40-149-99-free-shipping.825138/

I have been using 2 CenterPoint 4-16x50mm and yet to test 2 Cabela's 3-12x40mm as I have been happy with Leupold and Bushnell on QD scope mounts (Leupold has been used on PCCs and Bushnell on rifles). Leupold is very bright and provides clear image to edges of glass. Bushnell and CenterPoint scopes have done well with brightness even during sunset and after sunset shooting sessions (I was curious about Dusk & Dawn claims ;)) likely from 50mm objectives.

While I certainly can afford to buy higher priced scopes (I have only spent around $110,000+ on shooting/reloading related items the past 25 or so years) but since 95%+ of my shooting is out to only 100 yards, I couldn't justify the expense of higher priced scopes. BUT I am currently teaching a coworker "handload" 260 Remington using new Starline brass and another coworker "reload" .308 using once-fired LC brass (I am almost finished gathering used/new equipment to PIF to them). 260 Remington shooter is a hunter and he found a spot where we can shoot out to 600 yards (two other coworkers know of 800-1000 yard spots further away) and I am planning to test my 18" 1/7 .223 Wylde AR build and will consider different scope if Bushnell is found to be inadequate.

I may buy the Trophy Bone Collector to give as early Christmas present to .308 shooter as his scope is damaged and needs replacement.

Bushnell Trophy Bone Collector 3-9x40mm $49.99 after $50 MIR (free shipping) - https://www.amazon.com/Bushnell-753960BX-Collector-Riflescope-Clamshell/dp/B01EC4SV6Y?tag=gunpl-20

Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn 3-9x40mm $37.99 after $30 MIR (free shipping for Prime members) - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...itle_1?smid=A34B8X18ULPK6L&psc=1&tag=gunpl-20

Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn 6-18x50mm $59.99 after $30 MIR (free shipping) - https://www.focuscamera.com/bushnel...justable-objective-riflescope-6-18x-50mm.html

How about this?
I ended up buying 2 of the circle-x scopes. I figured for $20 each how could I go wrong. This will free up the red-dot from an AR and a red-dot from my 30 carbine so both of those rifles will be able to be used to their full potential. The red-dots will now go back on top of my marlin 60 and Taurus pt99. This will basically let me have low magnification on everything I shoot for accuracy and quick aquisition on the guns I shoot for fun. And if I never grow to like them, they can be moved along their way later at a very slight loss.

i kinda need a few low power scopes, and even tho ive not been hugely impressed with the banners, im seriously considering getting a couple of those.

Yes, hard to pass up at that price. I ordered 5 and shipping came to $18.91 so final cost would be $23.77 after $30 MIR. I am going to put one on 10/22 TakeDown, put another on QD scope mount to use on PCCs along with Leupold 3-9x40mm/Cabela's 4-12x40mm and give away the rest as Christmas presents.

And this guy is shooting 1000 yards with Bushnell Banner 4-16x40mm bought from Walmart!

That leaves more for you guys.
Thanks! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

And when I looked through the $149 shipped Leupold American Marksman (Currently $229 at Cabela's only) with lifetime warranty and saw the brightness, I realized why they have a following. But being able to buy Bushnell Trophy/Bone Collector for $49 shipped after $50 MIR that comes with transferable "No questions asked" lifetime warranty, it's hard to pass up - http://bushnell.com/Bushnell/media/Files/LifetimeWarrantySheet.pdf

The banners I had did seem to have surprisingly good glass. It's mostly reliability issues that I've seen.
When you get a good one they are great scopes for the cost.

With the rebate I'm inclined to try the lower power simpler ones again, but at regular price is much rather have a trophy, or different brand.

There's a 3-9x40 trophy with multi-x reticle on Amazon for $80. Might be backordered now. But that's $30 after rebate. I already got it on the rifle.

That's the same price as the Banner series with a $30 rebate.

Better scope, same price.

UPDATE: Received the Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40mm scopes and compared to Leupold American Marksman 3-9x40mm and Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn AO 6-18x50mm tonight. Between 9 PM and 9:30 PM PST, I focused on a car grill emblem parked 100 yards away and nearby objects under canopy of 100+ feet of redwood and pine trees without any other ambient lighting.

Even with diminishing ambient lighting that made it difficult to see the grill emblem with my eyes, I was able to clearly see the emblem with Leupold. (FYI, for my eyes, Leupold Marksman 3-9x40mm provides brighter view than Bushnell Banner 3-9x40mm)

But the surprise came when I viewed the Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40mm. Initially, Bushnell Trophy view seemed slightly brighter than Marksman. I went back and forth with Leupold Marksman and while Leupold Marksman provided bright sharp images of grill emblem and car body parts, Bushnell Trophy seemed to register sharper initial image that I did not need to adjust to. I adjusted the focus of both scopes and my impression is Bushnell Trophy is on par with Leupold Marksman or has slight edge. At $26.99 after $50 MIR, I am very glad I bought the Bushnell Trophy scopes (with lifetime warranty) .

Then I viewed the Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn AO 6-18x50mm with zoom set at 9x and AO set at 100 yards. By now, it was close to 9:30 PM with ambient light dimming but the view was brighter than Leupold Marksman and Bushnell Trophy viewed earlier with more ambient lighting. I was able to clearly see the grill emblem and with increased zoom to 18x, see a lot more clearly.
