My experience with Bushnell optics has been limited to the “Walmart specials“ of yesteryear. I still have one floating around that has bounced between three or four rifles, and probably isn’t terrible. If you consider how little it cost :) it actually cost me nothing, but I do remember when my dad bought it… that said, I saw one of the Bushnell Match pros on sale and have considered buying it. Possibly as a gift. I’m just curious if anyone has any experience with them?

On sale? Where and how much? Not even the Bushnell outlet around here sells them at anything but list price.

Good scope for moderate long-range match use.

I have 2 of their trophy elites from before their latest line and name changes appeared. They have been excellent but I have no experience with any of the new except for the 4.5 X 18 AR scopes that do their job and do it well. The cross hairs in these could be thinner but I like them well enough to own three.

If you hunt the woods. You may find 6x to much. I found this out when i put a scope on my 30.06 that started at 6x.
I know exactly what you mean. But Most of these great fruited NE plains that I/we roam… I know a guy that hunts with a Golden eagle… I’m not hugely worried about that. If only there were some really good 2x20x50 hunting scopes with a 30-34 mm tube for about $300 instead of 3k… lol

I own one, but I've only had it out a couple of times so don't feel qualified to make a detailed recommendation. But I can't say anything bad. My remembrance was the glass was decent for the price (I think that I paid less than $500 for the illuminated version direct from Bushnell and they had a deal for caps and a sun shade for another $30), the clicks were positive, and it has a Christmas tree reticle if you like that sort of thing. They were intended as a NRL/PRS scope to stay under a certain price point to qualify as production class or some such. Mines on a 24" barreled AR that like I said, I don't shoot as much as I should.

Anyone use them hunting at all?

Aside from the minimum 6x and reticle, the 30mm tube and 50mm objective would disqualify it IMO. Maybe on a varmint rig that wouldn't get carried around too much. It's a big scope.

Just my opinion....as always.....but writing these off as Match only simply because they are out side the "norm" for an American hunting scope is selling them a bit short in that area.

Not saying they would be everyone personal preferences, but if they fit the shooter and use theres no reason NOT to use them in a hunting situation.

Heh! the only hunting specific scope ive bought recently has a 34mm tube, 50mm objective, 2-16x, locking dial turrets, and a modified German #4 reticle.....it also weights something like 3lbs.....kinda an odd optic really, but man is it nice..... gonna put it on my also kinda odd but stupendously accurate and very nice S20 (when i get another set of 34mm rings).

I agree. The bigger objective and tube can be really nice in low light conditions… now, I’m also not referring to a little light shorter barrel brush gun. If I purchase this scope, it will be going on a 24” barrel “hybrid” (target and hunting) longer range rifle chambered in 30-06. My hunting rifle this year is my 26” 308 with a vortex pst2 on it. At the same time, I have hunted the PA deer woods, so I know exactly where some are coming from. It wouldn’t work that well in some of those areas. I ised an old 3x9x32 in that time frame, and, I still like the wider view of a bigger objective personally. 44mm is most often the “hunting only” choice. I still would like a 2.5-20 with a 50mm objective and a 34mm tube. That nearly indistinguishable high power “scope full of sticks” can be frustratingly frustrating. Lol

I have one on a .22 I built. It’s the older illuminated model that I picked up last spring for $350 or $399 I can’t remember.

I do not have a lot to compare it too as most of my scopes are SFP and used for hunting. The glass seems good to me, esp for the price. Turrets are solid, and repeatable. They lock as well. If you require a zero stop this model does not have one. I really like it and would consider one for a larger rifle. For the price it was worth it for me. If you are comparing to $1k scopes the glass does not compare.
