I own a Vortex Spitfire 2 red/green dot sight at x1 magnification and am able to shoot fairly accurately out to about 150 yards or so. I love the sight too as I can use my iron sights as well and the color and brightness of the dot is adjustable.

I like that setup, but is that a SpitFire or a StrikeFire II. I can't find anything on a SpitFire II.

I'm sorry, that's a STRIKEfire. I think my Mac autocorrected it incorrectly lol. I will say, for a "cheap" (compared to high end models ie: EOtech/Burris/Trijicon etc..) red/green dot...it holds true, is spot on, has a great fit and finish and the battery life is superb. I'd definitely put this on any shorter range rifle I own.

Thanks for that info. That is the next addition to my AR. I've had the TRS-25 on it since the initial build, with no complaints at all after two years. I just want an optic with a bit more distance capability.

Well this that red/green dot is a 0x magnification....I imagine you could get one of the 3x magnification flip over jobs.
