lol my local gun shop is having this competition next Saturday and I'm gonna enter. Must be centerfire, no lasers or optics.

So it got me to thinking, what should I use? The 4 guns I feel most confident with to do this is my Ruger Blackhawk in 9mm or .357 cylinder, the S&W 629 .44 mag, my H&K USP Expert .45 or actually my CZ 50 .32 I could do this because at 15 yards it is pretty dead on.

Thing is though, the time limit, I can't do 15 shots in 30 seconds with either my Blackhawk or 629 .44 mag.

Which leaves me with the USP .45 as the choice for quick magazine exchanging. So let me ask, what gun of yours would you choose?

But I thought revolvers were better???

:neener:

Took my new Glock to the range and was doing some combat drills. Drew and fired 15 rounds in 5 seconds at 7yds and got a 4.5" group. Your range's challenge looks fun!

Vern it has to be centerfire cartridge no .22. Blkhrt As far as the 92 if you mean Beretta 92, yes accurate gun but I would have to use drive the dot sighting for mine otherwise shoots low which I am not as accurate doing as with 6 o clock hold.

I'd choose one of my 9mm service pistols that holds 15 or more rounds but I have several to choose from and wouldn't know which one to pick!

Reminds me of one of those turkey shoots. I hope the prizes aren't turkeys. My buddy and I went to one of those things and we ended up with 5 turkeys. What do you do with 5 turkeys? I don't even like turkey.

Yeah you said what gun of mine. So at this point until I get one of the other center fire autoloaders out of lay away I’d say my 92s beretta. The sights are a bit small. But her lines are graceful and she points better than any other auto I’ve had. The 1911 was close but I had to readjust to acquire the sights on my Glock.

Taurus pt99af would be the logical choice, but the best choice for me would be to use the phoenix hp22 as its a really incredible little gun. Too bad about that pesky ban on rimfire.

Does an AR pistol count? Either that or my XD .45. My XDS .45 or Python would require too many reloads and I only have 2 speedloaders for the Python. I actually shoot the XDS the best. So I'd have a hard time choosing.

which of your guns can you accurately and reliably shoot 15 rounds in 30 seconds?
think that should narrow your field down.

Me... I'd grab my P30L.

I shoot a local league every monday night in the winter that is very similar to this. We shoot a series of 3 rounds with 15 shots each round. Our rules are you can only have 5 rounds in each magazine or speed loader to try to level the playing field for revolvers. We shoot similar targets to this in about the same time limit. I will tell you that it is possible to do this with a double action revolver with speed loaders, but you will really be in a rush to do so and will not be competitive with semi auto's. Try as I might, even with limited the semi auto's to 5 rounds per mag, I have never beaten my semi auto scores with my revolver and have never seen anybody else do so either.

This is the gun I built for shooting games and I do well with it. 9mm 1911

Of the guns you have I think I would use the CZ50. I think I would do best with it due to the low recoil and single action trigger.

I take it back, I wasn't familiar with that H&K USP expert. I didn't look at the picture and thought that was a different gun than it is. I would use that.

I'd have to go with my PC Shield in 9mm, with a reload that would be 15.

I could attempt it with my S&W Mountain Gun in 45 ACP. Would be interesting if I could do the reloads in time with the moonclips
