Buy an Assault rifle now?

Guys,

I have the itch for an "assault rifle." Actually, I want an MBR, specifically a DSA fal "tactical" carbine. But I wonder if I can get the "integrated" muzzle brake replaced with a real flash suppressor when the stupid AWB dies. Who would do such work? In fact, I may SBR it. Man I can't wait!

Who would do such work?

Call around to local gunsmiths and ask them. The one I use charges $50 to thread a barrel. I plan on having him thread my DSA STG58.

What's an assault rifle? Oh, yeah, the military-issue rifle or carbine that fires an intermediate cartridge, capable of either semi, burst, or full-auto fire. That assault rifle, normally not available to law-abiding U.S. citizens without a Title III FFL transfer.

Absolutely StuporDave but in Louisiana it must be C&R (Korean war vintage or before I think) before you can own it in your state (as a private citizen).

There are a few C&R M16's out there, but they command a premium price.
