So, I guess I'm the only one surprised that there are gun shows in Germany?

Cool.
And interesting that they're so similar to our own.

I'm careful about duplicate postings, haven't had a problem until early this AM, in over 900 postings. I spent a night (and early morning) at the computer...
I've been known to stutter myself, during those hours:eek:

It was likely their sense of humor

Don't sweat it. Nobody knows who you really are here, anyway

Re: .223 and 7.62

I was at a gun show today and the owner of a store which sells ammunition told us that the supply of .223 & .762 is about to dry up, owing to the issues we are having with Russia. The .762 caliber will be in short supply, because it is mostly Russians made, and the .223 because it is needed for troops.
The U.S. was supposed to be switching to the 6.8 round. But I can see where a large chunk of .223 might be lost, as Russia has been making great inroads into U.S. ammo market. Thier Bear and Wolf brands are a lot cheaper than U.S. and others brass cased ammo

Gun show vendors are like politicians and or carnies (carnival vendors), whenever they are telling you something, it is safe to assume they are lying.

woofe

Copper has been falling in the past few weeks. Any catchup by the big resellers and mfrs should be done by now. Retail outlets may be still be increasing the price on the shelf.

Once it's done it may be years for those to fall again. Very likely the price of copper will go up again when this economic train wreck finally gets settled one way or another.

The gun show dealer also owns the furniture store with the 3 year and counting going out of business sale sign in the window.

I have found online inventories lasting longer as of late. If you look at the sell forums here and elsewhere, a bunch of folks are dumping, not buying.

Some really good deals to be had out there.

Picked up a preban Norinco AK like new for 300 bucks the other day.

Ive heard that same line at every gun show Ive been two in the last 4 years, or on the web from somoen who alledges ties to 'the ammo industry insiders' or some such BS

Aint gonna happen!

There have been some production shortages, but these seem to be catching up and backorders are being filled.

SO,, with dealers getting lots of pre-ordered ammo in, add a sagging economy, this could be the beginning of a price reduction across the board, especially if McCain gets in office.

buy it up! If you have the cash why not. Just don't believe the gremlins at the gunshow.

Good thing I don't use .762 caliber!

Good thing I saved all my brass. I've got about a years supply of 7.62 brass, about 500 .310 bullets, and enough powder to last a year,

Good thing I have that turret press and boxes of 7.62x54r cases in my basement...now if I can only remember what the heck I did with all that powder I had stashed! :D

$50.00 FOR A 10 ROUND BOX...I'M GONNA BE RICH...RICH I TELL YOU!!!!

hehe what about that Winchester 7.62x54R that sometimes appears in places like Big 5? Its already over $25 for 20 there.

Obscure ammo will never be impossible to find, ever. Might get expensive though.

Remember, after the boy cried wolf too many times, the wolf DID eventually come. Right now, with what many of us legally have in our closets, safes and trunks, we would be criminals in several states. Right now Obama leads in the polls, and should he win, then he likely will have been elected along with even more Dem congressmen, adding to thier majority. Then add an Obama appointed Supreme Court justice ( or two) to the mix. Do any of you people making the "tin foil" jokes really think those guys aren't going to make a move when it suits them? I'll keep my tin foil hat on, you guys keep your heads in the sand.

So you believe that somehow the government is going to stop ammo sales or manufacturing? C'mon, and spare me that 'Obama 500% tax on ammo' bit, its bunk and has been chased to a blog, nothing more, and thats where the NRA got their info from too!

Nope. They won't stop it or ban it. They'll just pass 'ol teddys bill. You know- The one that outlaws any round that can penetrate police armor. Think not? They already did it with pistol ammo.

Anyway-our OP brought what he thought to be a legitimate concern to the table. Showed concern for his fellow gun owners. Just because he may have been mislead doesn't mean he needs gangpiled. Some of you guys were a bit rough on him.

Another news flash from 411man...

Breaking News: Stuff Might Cost More Soon!

Seriously. I heard the .gov will ban tinfoil hats soon. Pre-existing ones will be grandfathered in if put on the National Tinfoil Hat Registry before March 2010. If you do not have an NHTR registration before then, your tinfoil hat becomes contraband and is not allowed to be possessed. However you can still make tinfoil hats for LEOs, the .gov, and post-dealer samples.

Walmart, low everyday price ! REally ammo is getting higher every few months, thats what interpreneurs want . More profit.
