Ok so I know that a person can buy a firearm and then gift it to someone else so long as they are the actual purchaser or the firearm. My question is can a group pool their money and then sent a member to purchase a firearm to give to a third party as a gift?
Example: My little brother is about to graduate and the thought has occurred for my mother and I to go in 50/50 on a 1911 he has been wanting to give to him for a present. I would take her half, since she is firearm illiterate, combine it with my half, go to the LGS, buy the gun, and then after his graduation give it to him as a gift. Would this be a legal?
