Hello

I'd like to see if someone with first hand experience can help me understand if it is legal for me to purchase a C&R Firearm at an out of state gun show. I have a C&R 03FFL, live in Minnesota and I'm heading to the Show of Shows in Louisville, KY. Thanks!

C&R is a FFL. Though limited to just C&R.. for example you could buy a C&R from Aim, or the old SOG and have it delivered right to your door....So yes, you can buy a C&R in another state, if the seller recognizes your C &R. They are not obligated to do so.

YES! YES! YES! Bring un-signed copies of your license with you. Only C&R....but virtually any otherwise non-NFA C&R pistol, rifle or shotgun. This is of course *IF* the seller is willing to accept your license...most will at a gun show, but some will balk and want to do a regular title 1 transfer. Most won't. It is possible a local/state ordinance might preclude such a transfer, but I would bet that would be highly unlikely. Do some reading on your packet from ATF andf bring cash! Good Luck!

Furthermore, all activities must be in compliance with Federal, State and local laws/ordinances.

Therein lies the zinger... Many States and local laws have their own version of just what is allowed. Be sure you are up to date on them before trying to follow the Federal guidelines.
