CA definition of flash suppressor

Dear Mr. Sultze:

Our legal counsel suggests contacting the Federal Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco & Firearms (ATF), Firearms Technology office in Washington DC,
(202) 927-7910, for their interpretation, as a flash suppressor is a
characteristic of an assault weapon under federal law, also. We defer
to their decision.

So, according to this, the John Masen "Black Warrior" muzzle brake is legal under CA law.

yeah... but a flash suppressor by itself does not make an "assault weapon" under federal law. Only under Ca. law might that apply.


Find the DOJ's number and call them up, there used to be a knowledgable person up there and god forbid he isn't up there anymore. Check PM...
