Gunshop Owner, Customer Shoot At Robbers
Two Individuals Recovering From Gunshot Wounds

LOS ANGELES -- Two people are recovering from bullet wounds Thursday morning after an El Cerrito, Calif., gun shop owner and one of his customers opened fire on three robbers.

Police Cndr. Daniel Hurley said a man who entered the Old West Gun Room Wednesday afternoon made the owner uncomfortable -- and he asked him to leave.

When he buzzed the man out, two more men pushed in. One was carrying a shotgun.

The store owner quickly drew his own pistol and opened fire, as did a customer.

The man who first entered the store was wounded in the ankle. A pedestrian also was wounded. Neither injury is serious.

Hurley says that the use of a shotgun indicates a robbery was planned. The other two men are being sought.

An investigation into the incident is being conducted.
