CA State Senator Leland Yee (D) is one of the main driving forces in wanting to expand CA's assault weapons ban and to pass additional gun control laws in CA.

Today (03-26-14), it was first reported that Senator Yee was arrested by the FBI on corruption and bribery charges.

The FBI affidavit against Senator Yee was unsealed today and from it additional charges have come forth...
"I believe that the facts detailed below are sufficient to demonstrate probable cause to believe that SENATOR YEE has violated the following criminal statutes: Title 18, United States Code, Section 1343 and 1346 (Wire Fraud of Honest Services); Title 18, United States Code, Sections 371, 922(a)(1) and 922(l) (Conspiracy to Deal Firearms Without a License and to Illegally Import Firearms)."

It appears the the "Conspiracy to Deal Firearms Without a License and to Illegally Import Firearms" charges was for brokering a deal to import one hundred M16 machine guns from the Philippines to the USA.

Unbelievable, straight out of a John Woo movie (back when he was in HK making good movies).
 
It's obvious that just as Mark Gifford was incorrectly maligned for buying an AR 15, so too the Senator was only seeking to demonstrate how lax and inadequate current gun controls are. He had every intention of informing the authorities once he had brokered the M16 deal to highlight the ease with which high powered automatic assault rifles with 30 round magazineclips can be brought into this country.

At least that will be the spin from his lawyer and PR team tomorrow...:p

Make standard rifles illegal, then run them. Profit!

This should taint his bills. Is there anything in California law that would demand his legislation be reviewed/re-voted?

(I know that given the band of "The Lesser" that is the California legislation, the outcome could be the same.)
 
It would be nice if could invalidate all his anti-gun legislation, but that will never happen. At least he won’t be able to push any more of it. Unfortunately, it will probably just give the CA antis more incentive to pass more unconstitutional laws.

I wonder if DiFi will have a press conference tomorrow to push for more import prohibitions.
 
Hope our justice system doesn't fail this time and also hope the Feds and prosecutors have their ducks in a row and all the paper work in order.

All the i's dotted and t's crossed.
Tapped phone calls with crystal clarity.
High definition surveillance videos with sound.
Incriminating and detailed e-mails.
An unfathomable amount if witnesses.
A crate of M-16s.
And lastly a trail if his like minded political buddies falling like dominoes.

This is America after all, innocent until proven guilty. This guy needs the book thrown at him. Max sentencing and the works. Though I'm afraid I'm fantsizing about fair and EQUAL justice across the board, no exceptions.

Probable outcome: 5 years of probation and 100 hours community service and retention of benefits earned while serving a public office.
 
Good. Serves said SOB right. I'm sure some kind of fast and furious type staging was planned with said M16's to help implement a ban.
 
I am witheringly angry about this. This guy was clearly voting among nothing other than party lines if he believes it is MORALLY ACCEPTABLE to get M16s and rocket launchers for what are obviously domestic terrorists (Chinatown gangsters by the sounds of it) and slaps "Assault Weapon" labels on semi auto rifles for the law abiding voters? Every vote he has ever made on guns just reeks of hypocrisy so terribly that I can smell the stench in New Jersey (that might be the Meadowlands I smell).

How many other anti gun politicians are LYING about their stance to their voters, are PRO GUN, PRO AUTOMATIC RIFLE, when it comes to their shady friends and yet restrictive when it comes to the people much less likely to use these weapons for violence??

I haven't been this mad since the "Confiscate, confiscate, confiscate" open-mic in NJ....
 
Maybe this is why DiFi was mad that they were being spied on, I hope she was in on it and they bust her
 
The hope here in CA, is that he rolls over and implicates more anti-gun lawmakers in these crimes. This is the third state senator brought up on felony charges just this year and the Dems have already lost their supermajority because of it.

It would be nice if we could get all of the anti-gun bills introduced by Yee invalidated.

If anything, they'll use this to argue that we need even more gun control.
 
It's worth pointing out that certain politicians, like Yee, are "antigun" mainly because they think it plays well with their voters. He obviously didn't have any personal scruples against dealing with the guns themselves. If you change the opinions of the voters (from antigun to progun), then you also change the opinions of these politicians. Therefore we need to work at the grassroots as much, or more, than we work at high-level lobbying.
 
I'm sure he'll try to wiggle out by saying it was an "ongoing sting operation" and he did not notify the proper authorities because he didn't know where the corruption was. Politicians are as slippery as they come and they hide behind many things that the common man does not even know about.
