I know DSA sells the Cali legal FAL with the fixed 10 round mag. However, I don't see why someone does not just sell the FAL style rifles without the pistol grip? It seems like it would meet the letter of our insanely stupid laws. What gives?

Robinson Arms sells their M96 without the grip. The FAL would be no different. There is a stud for a grip on both rifles. The FALs is a little longer. But, I don't think that should matter much.

Technically, a CA dealer can sell you an FAL without the grip. However, given the political climate in this state, it's not worth it.
