Caliber conversion on XD Tactical?

Anybody know if you can buy a .40 S&W barrel and magazine, and install it in a XD Tactical (currently .45 GAP)? I got the gun cheap, it's new, but I would rather have a full size .40. Just curious, Thanks.

A while back, I read a thread on 10mm talk about converting an XD .45 to 10mm. If that can be done, I'd imagine that .45 GAP to .40S&W can be done as well, but it'll take a lot of doing. Why not just sell the .45GAP and get a .40S&W, instead?

I have thought about that too, it's just that when i get a gun in my grubby little hands it's very difficult to let it go. I just sold the twin to the XD I'm referring to in this post and that was hard. And I bought that expressly to sell for a profit to make the cost of the one I kept lower.

*i think* you can swap barrels between 9, 357SIG and 40.. but i don't think that you can swap anything out with the 45GAP due to the chamber length.. AFAIK..
