Caliber of the day......223 (2/23/24) picture thread.

Put this one together a few years back, a little over $400 all in (scope was old Korean made Sportview). Joe

Wow....lots of love for the .223!

If you have .223 pics.....let's see them, regardless of the date on the calendar.

Here is an old picture of a very unfortunate coyote who fell to my offhand shot from 400yds. I was standing on the dirt road behind my house and the coyote was in my endrows of the cornstalks ¼mile away. I'm not sure who was more surprised....him or me!

Ruger SR556 under a little Nikon 3x fixed.

The rifle now belongs to a guy in another state, unfortunately.

Here's a couple toys I play with: Win M70 Stealth bone stock 223, 'cept for Colo weed camo,

and: Rem 700. Krieger 1 x 14 x 26 bbl, chambered 223 AI

both are better than MOA guns, the Ackley is scary accurate. Half MOA groups fireforming, etc. Yea, they're not light weight.....

Two ATVs means you had a witness!

If conditions are right (shooting from a bench or something similar), none of my .223s are more pleasant, more satisfyingly accurate, sweeter-shooting than the CZ 527 Varmint.

Lighter and not as easy to shoot tight groups with, but much more pleasant to carry is the 527 Classic Factory Special.

The 527 FS (top) is the 2nd most accurate by a slight margin, and fun to shoot.

I ended up selling the 527 Carbine because I always shot one of the others instead. Here's a photo anyway.

The 1976 model SP-1 (bottom) is also fun, but in a different way from the bolt guns. And very light and easy to carry for long distances.
