I'm there! Travel reservations have been bumped to Saturday at 3.40pm. I really wish I would have brought some guns....

Ed

I haven't mentioned this to my wife in a while, but she did say she didn't object when I did talk to her about this several weeks ago. If she doesn't have anything she desperatly needs me for I'll still be there. I may have to head out early Saturday, but if I can get out of here Friday evening I will certainly do so. If I do head out Friday, keep your stomachs from getting too full before I arrive. I'll bring some elk steaks with me to grill over the fire. Maybe some homebrew too.

It's what, ~3 hours to Yuma from the east side of Phx? Probably won't make it much if any before 9PM. Even if I'm out of work by 5, getting home and loaded up and stopping at Wal-Mart for some WWB will make it hard to be on the road before 6PM. At least I'll be on the good side of the road when heading out, at least until I get halfway through Phx.

Hey Dasmi,

Of corse im in. I cant ditch shooting up things in a gun friendly state. i'll pm my info to you. I also have 2 printers i would like to get rid of. Also when are we meeting at that alpine location? Friday? 5:45pm?

Sumnz, go to page 1. Take a right off of Hwy 8 on Fortuna rd. Head north till you run into Hwy 95. Go right on 95 and head north on it til you run into the range. Range will be on your left. I'll be there hanging out in the white/blue bronco. I am gonna take some camping gear and a soft futon matt and crash in the back of the truck like I do during deer season.

I plan on taking enough wood for a good bonfire and some cold beers. Will keep the grill hot for them there steaks. :D

My car is now full. My little brother and a friend of his are tagging along...well he's 20, so not so little I guess.
Kevin33, you've still got a seat reserved. Anyone else from San Diego who wants to follow me out, post on this thread or PM me.

UPDATE:
Anyone following or riding with me, I will be in a white F-150, NOT a tan mercedes. Not enough cargo room in the Benz for this trip.

So what's the total head count now? My friend is to busy, so that leaves me, Lenny, dasmi, dasmi's brother and friend, ehseato and Kevin. Less'n my 5calculus classes have totally worn off, that's 7. I'm guessing esheato won't be there Friday night. In light of that, how much elk should I bring. I've pulled one large roast out that can be cut into some good steaks. Will that be enough?

Sounds like the right place. I have my Bronco loaded and ready to go minus weapons. Will leave around 1 local.

I have wood for campfire but no grill other than my camp grate that goes over a fire.

Can someone bring either a grill or charcoal so we can grill them there elk steaks.:D

I might go to the gun show on Saturday after we're done shooting. I am looking for a .44, .454 or .480 and want to trade my BHP for one.

Change in plans: I should be done packing up my equipment by 5pm. Sooo, I should be able to make tonights get together.

Lenny, give me a call when you get here and I'll come out.

BTW, this is probably the last time that I'll get a chance to check THR before tonight...see ya soon.

Ed

I might be delayed a couple of hours. Hopefully I will get there before sun down. Don't want to be driving around the desert in the dark trying to find a camping spot.

At least I won't have to worry about running into any bad guys. With being armed to the teeth and all.:D

Ed, I'll holler when I get off the highway.

What to bring?

Is this an organized range, or do we shoot at whatever?

I have a small clay thrower and some clays, also some fencing material to hang clays on as simple reactive rifle/pistol targets. Bring this stuff, or paper targets, spinners, or ???

Shotguns (for shooting clays), rifles, handguns?

This is only a few miles from I-8, right?

Thanks

It's mapped as the National Guard Range on Google Maps, though of course that could mean anything.

Yes, if we (Ellie and I) go, we're going from San Diego.

She's pretty sick, but kinda stoked on going. I'm up for anything, though I might need to clean my sixgun a bit before shooting it.

If we can throw clays, I'm always up for it. Good hunting on the way out there, too. Any idea what to do with a quail once you've shot it? I don't know. But barbecuing it might work. :)

You're in Alpine?

You camping out in AZ?

Ya, I'm in Alpine.
I pm'd Ellie the address where my group is leaving from, in Alpine.
We're rolling out at 6:15 PM, tonight. Throwing clays shouldn't be a problem.
LennyJoe is on his way there now to setup camp. If you want to follow me out, meet me at the address I sent to Ellie, before 6:15. I'm leaving my office in 15 minutes to get packed, and I won't be back at a computer before heading out. I also sent Ellie my cell phone numbers, in case you need better directions.

Dave

EDIT:
But barbecuing it might work
I'm bringing a charcoal grill.
