Need help from Glock and auto experts to diagnose an issue with my buddy's 2nd Gen Glock 19. It's an early model that falls under the firing pin upgrade kit. He bought it used with all original parts, it eve has the original 90 degrees ejection port angle. He replaced the two piece guide rod with a new guide rod assembly. He's uses the original NFML mags, with original springs, and Winchester SaverPack FMJ.

When he fires his G19, sometimes the ejected shells ding the top front right side of he ejection port. The ejected shells also have a slight indentation about 1/16 of an inch from the bottom crimp. I tried to illustrate the markings on the attached pic.

What could be causing the dings to the ejection port and the markings on the shells?

It sounds like what's happening is that the extractor is holding onto the casing a bit too long, making the casing swing around to the back of the ejection port, hitting the rear of the ejection port. Are there any brass markings on the rear (outside) of the ejection port?

If so, the extractor is either very dirty (or too long?). I'm not an expert, though, so don't quote me or do anything like filing down the extractor. I'm just putting in my 2 cents.

I should've specified that the shells are pinging the front edge of the ejection port, not the rear. The extractor is clean and the correct one for the model.
