Please help me identify this hi power. I am not sure what year it was made. But it has a spur hammer, ambi grips, old style synthetic grips, and it's marked FN HERSTAL, BELGIUM. Columbia, south carolina, and has the fn crest markings on it.

Serial number _ _ 1my53003

Is this a mark III or mark II? What is a fair price for it?

To the best of my knowledge look at the bottom of the magwell. If it is smooth - forged MKII / ribbed - cast MKIII.

Hello. The "MY" in the serial number indicates 2002 manufacture. It is a Mk III. The Mk II's ceased production in the '80's. Mk III's have a dovetailed front sight as well as rear sight.

Value is difficult to determine without seeing the pistol or reading a description of whether it is scratched vs pristine, NIB or like new and so forth.

This 9mm Mk III was imported by Browning so it doesn't have the FN markings or "South Carolina" notation on it as does your FN, which is the same gun other than markings. FN manufactures the "Browning Hi Power". Browning is the primary US importer. The pistol in the picture has had the hammer spur slightly bobbed and the ejection port side extended thumb safety lever removed but should otherwise be the same as the pistol you have. (Grip panels may be a different.)

NIB Mk III's are going from about $800 to $1000 these days; prices vary quite about across the US, it seems.

Best.

NIB MKIIIs are being sold at CDNN for $699. There are Israeli imports everywhere for under $400 in rough condition and at $459 in excellent condition.

Not to disagree with the Hi power guru but I would say its worth somewhere in the range of $550 to $600 depending on condition and your location.
