can i shoot my new ar barrel without any muzzle brake?

I installed a new BA barrel on a AR upper but do not have the muzzle brake. Just the thread is showing. Is it safe to shoot it without any sort of muzzle device at the tip?

yup it's fine, fined a way to protect the threads tho.

Won't hurt a thing, as long as you don't ding it during transport or drop it. As Troy said, if you can find something to protect them (O-rings stacked up, maybe?), good. If not, just be careful not to knock them against anything.

couple wraps of electrical tape around the threads to protect them, but other than the possibility of dinging the threads if you bang them against something, you will not hurth anything by firing it without a muzzle device.
