Can I substitute

Any reason I couldn't use a Hornady Mag XTP #45220 240 gr in place of a Sierra JHC #8820 240 gr in 45 Colt load for my Uberti 1858 Remington Army? Both are .452 dia. Thanks

No problem at all. You can substitute the same weight if the bullet length and profile are similiar.

As long as you aren't at max, you should be fine. I always like to have both bullets to see if there's a difference in how much bullet seats into the case. While most bullets of similar weights and profiles have the crimp cannelure close to the same depth, I have come across some that there is enough difference that I adjust my loads accordingly.
