Hello;

This is a annoying and bothersome topic. I'm trying to finally get myself straightened out on a ccw piece, and need to try actually shooting a few. The local gun-mart/ranges dont seem to have much beyond full sizes on their rental lists. I've got a sig 220 and a XD-9 either of which I can manage to carry during cold weather.

Too bad TN doesn't have much cold weather.

If some one in the area has a Kahr CW9 or CZ82 and is willing to let me put a mag or two downrange on it I'd really appreciate it. My face shows up at most of the usual haunts (stones river, violia valley, Terry's) on the 'boro/east nashville side of the world.

Suggestions on other pistols would be welcome as well. I'm semi-shopping for two others whom are recoil sensitive (geeks with early onset carpel tunnel). They are sort of interested in a bersa thunder or a berreta cheeta. I'm not a big 380 fan, but I probably shouldnt be throwing stones if I'm looking at 9mm makarov.

If you've thoughts on others I should consider or are able to offer up a sample for me to dirty up, please drop me an IM or respond here. I've got nothing against 40/357 sig just would like to keep the size down and still be enjoyable to shoot.

I'd look at the Glock subcompacts (26,27), CZ RAMI 2075, and some of the small 1911 pistols too.

ETA: Don't forget Taurus Mil-Pros either.

I just bought the G26 and absolutely love it. Extremely accurate and comfortable while still being concealable. 9mm HP is a strong enough round for SD and yet its a good round for the range because ammo is cheaper.
If you add the extended grip for the pinky, IMO its a perfect all around piece.

I'll consider the G26. I'm not in love with glock, but I do like DAO triggers..

I dId try a friends springfield compact 1911. It was also compensated. Had a few complaints with it.. namely it was quite loud, my hand stung a bit at the end of two mags done quickly and I wasn't happy with the accuracy I got out of it.

I know it can't be all my stupidity, I did passable with a taurus PT1911 and was pulling 3" groups out of the 220 at 25 yards same day.

I know, I know. it only needs to be minute-of-center-of-mass at 10 yards.. but none of them relaly point well for me either.
