Can the repro winchester 1897 trench gun "slam fire"

I am looking at the repro Winchester 1897 trench gun and was wonding if they can "slam fire" like the orginal?

I like the idea of pulling the trigger and pumped the mag dry.

I find it hard to belive the Germans in WWI, though the shot gun was unfair.
