So that we won't all have to log onto the bergmanusa site, could you possibly copy and paste the picture? Thanks.

Unident Obkect

Sorry guys, I don't know how to copy and paste. Tried what I could but nothing worked. Anyway, it sorta looks
like some sort of all metal shovel handle.

It looks like some anti-tank device.

But it could be just a pipe segment.

The green powdercoat gives the thing a real World War II military look.

Would help if we had some idea as to the scale of this. A picture with a ruler would help.

It appears to be a tent pole used with a shelter half. Each soldier carried 1/2 of a tent in his kit. It consisted of a tarp and three segmented poles. Two soldiers would combine these pieces into one tent when needed.

N.K.

It does look a little like an old shelter-half tent pole, but, it looks to be all steel . . . could it be a pintle mount?

could it be a pintle mount?

Now now, there's no need for profanity. :neener:

Besides, it's clear to me that what we're looking at in this pic is much, much more ancient than any run-of-the-mill WWII object.

What we have here, ladies and gentlemen, is Goliath's Toothpick. :neener:

That is one heck of a big firing pin. Looks like it came out of Paul Bunyon's AR-15.

Well, a few things it isn't.

It isn't a pintle mount for a MG.
The pintle pin is on the gun. The mount is a socket for it to fit in.

It isn't a shelter-half tent pole.
They are wood, with a rolled sheet metal pin on the end.

It could be a pole segment for a very large wall tent, but those used to be mostly wood as I recall.
