Can you recommend a powder?

I gave up on Unique about 6 years ago because of the way it meters. The first powder I tried was Power Pistol. It metered great and worked really well in my guns. I still use it.

The second was Universal. Here's another that metered extremely well. The benefit here is that it is very close to Unique in burn and charge weights.

Unique is the devil in powder form. For a flexible, not ultra fast, not ultra dense alternative, I'd go with Universal, 231, or Red Dot. If you want very easy-shooting rounds loaded with a fluffy powder, Trail Boss might be your answer.
