Can you shoot limited in California? 3 gun with AR15?

Sad to say I will be moving back to Kali in a month or so. What is the deal with shooting limited and 3 gun competitions with AR's because the magazine max is 10 rounds.

How are people doing this? Any suggestions? Do I have to replace all my mags with 10 rounders?

It really sucks, im going from carrying a Sig .45 to a Tazer, maybe I should get one in pink while I am at it....

unless your LEO you can't bring the mags here. doing so is actually a felony.

the gun in its stock form is also illegal. If its off list it can be modifed so its not a "AW" per ca law.

Yup, new mags are definitely going to be required but how many you buy will also be a factor of how long you plan on staying. If it's just a while you might consider stashing you 10+ round mags at a buddies place for the time being.

Also, I don't know how long you've been gone but the laws (as you're probably aware of) are always changing here. It might not be a bad idea to find out what has changed since you've been gone. I highly recommend Calguns.net and CalGunLaws.com as valuable resources.

It is my understanding that it is not as simple as just replacing your mags with 10 rounders. Your mag has to be fixed and can only be removed with a tool.

That should work, but it does not lend itself to speedy mag changes.
