Just heard on the news that in Canada they're considering a new law that would ban handguns entirely in Canada.

Another solution to the world wide mental health problem disguised as a gun problem.

And a political solution at that because
1. It doesn’t address any problem
2. It takes freedom away from people

When someone wants to post a plan of action we will reopen the discussion. Remember what the mission of the activism forum is?

Let's be sure we get out FYI information correct. The Canadian federal government is NOT making a move to ban handguns. The C-21 bill would allow localities to ban handguns where the Province permits. It would introduce a voluntary purchase program for "assault weapons". It would introduce a strict Red Flag provision to confiscate legal firearms. It is important that we be accurate in what we report.

Public Safety Minister Bill Blair is defending his government's decision not to include a handgun ban in its sweeping new gun control legislation.

The federal government on Tuesday introduced Bill C-21, which would increase criminal penalties for gun smuggling and trafficking, create a process for confiscating legal firearms from people who pose a risk to themselves and others, and introduce a buy-back program for "assault-style" firearms, which the government banned in May.

C-21 would also allow municipalities to ban handguns — but only if their province permits it.

PS - GEM - added for info, a story about the proposed action:
