with the rebate checks coming in the next few weeks I want to add a .45 to my collection. I just bought a CZ-75B in stainless and love the way it shoots and feels.

I have a chance to buy a used LE surplus SIG P220 with night sights and 2 8 round mags, box and papers included for $535 (online gun dealer). Just yesterday I saw a pic of someones P220ST with wood grips and I was like:what: sweet looking it is. The only other gun I'm looking at is a stainless Springfield PX9151LP stainless 1911 with wood grips( my local shop priced it for $879).

I prefer stainless for durability but how much does it cost to get the regular SIG refinished?

I plan to use my rebate check in addition to putting in another $600 or so towards a new gun. This will only be for going to the range and shooting, not for carry.

the regular sig is actually aluminum frame with a stainless slide. the slide has a black coating. the stainless model of 220 has a stainless steel frame in a ddition to a stainless slide. The ST is much heavier. I think the main consideration is whether the weight is a benifit of drawback.

I shot a Colt 1911 stainless steel and didnt feel the recoil was bad. How does the recoil of the regular Sig P220 aluminum frame compare to a 1911 steel frame?
