OK so I'm in the process of joining the Navy only one little problem. I thought my record was clean and as it turns out I'm on juditial diversion (which is basically just unsupervised probation) for 11 months and 29 days for a BS open container charge I got about 6 months ago. Anyways I'm not elligible for military service untill the 11/29 is up. Does anyone know of a way I can speed up and 11/29? Community service? Anything? I'm at a point where I have no job skills, no school except for Hschool, no job, vehichle is all but falling apart and no $$$ plus I've wanted to join the military for a long time and now I have to wait 6 months plus stay out of trouble and I don't really want to wait. Any advice?

What's a "BS" open container? You must have plead guilty or been convicted in court to have gotten this diversion scheme. But that's neither here nor there. I"d suggest a call to the DA's office or something like that, ask them if you can accelerate the diversion in order to enlist...can't think of a reason why they'd not want to work with you on that...it's a noble cause IMO.

Not much different than my "BS" misdemeanor possession charge (another state) that is keeping me from getting my CWP until November. Basically either wait it out or talk to the judge that sentenced you.

The Navy is super strict. My nephew had to explain a citation for fishing without a permit before he was accepted.
