be ready,dont surender.nail the shotgunner then the handgunner,repeat as nessesary.

both of the couple should've been armed and alert,if someones approaching with intent it sets off alarms in the minds of the ready.

in this incident sheep got sheered.

What a messed up story...

My wife is coming around on the whole "gun thing". Stories like this help, unfortunately.

cheese - like the editorial. +1 on including/adapting language talking about the dangers of being relocated at gunpoint.

Anyone here ever work anything but 1st shift? There are many reasons to be out at 2am besides partying. Try working 3rd shift and sitting home all night on your "day" off and watching 8 hours of infomercials or CNN. Situational awareness (and the 7000 lb car?) would have served these people far better than a ccw.

A side point: Like in the CT triple murder, a flashy upscale vehicle served as a magnet for home invaders. In CT, the killers saw the ladies get into a nice white Mercedes, and followed them home. In FL, a Navigator. Just a thought, but driving a more non-descript vehicle may be safer.

Very sad, that it has come to this. Reminds me of Mexico or Brazil, when you must dress down and drive a blah car to avoid predators.

Chances are that these folks were more in tune with the Brady bunch prior to the attack.

It's probably a safe bet that their leanings have changed a bit since.
