For those that have their carry guns duracoated (any color), how is it holding up?

Please post:

1. When it was done
2. How often its carried
3. Carried in leather or Kydex
4. How its holding up (chips, wear etc..)
5. Pic if ya have one.

Thanks!

Funny, 108 views, not a single reply. With all the people on gun forums showing off their guns and refinish jobs, you think they would chime in here...:banghead:

If you are talking about a baked on satin moly finish, yes, I had it done to my Glock 26 in 2000. I carry it every day, and just lately it started to show the faintest signs of wearing on the edges.

I did my S&W J frame about a year ago......carry it daily in a leather holster IWB. finish is holding up excellent. Minor wear on stress popints but you get that with any finish, sprayed on or blued. anyways, if you are wondering, YES, it holds up darn good.

I did the slide of my P32 with it. The only damage to the finish is where I banged in the disassembly pin without waiting for the Duracoat to fully cure, because I was impatient. The rest of the finish seems to be just about everything-proof.

This is the spray on epoxy finish, not the bake on moly stuff.

I have refinished several of my pistols. hk p7, sig 226,220, springfield 1911.
Ar-15. ak-74.
All are holding up well, sig carry is usually galco fed in 40. 226 is desantis or ss3 safariland. No problems with any of them. Ar is green but blends well. desert tan on ak for trips/

good value

I have Dura coated 1 1918A3 BAR, 1 G3,1 Hk Tactical All came out nice and are wareing well The G3 I have even touched up after a lot of abuse. It seams the only way to go on plastic guns. I would use flat finish it looks better with a flat clear over. all internals I use NP3///////Jim
