I visit a local pawn/gun shop with a working smith in the SE louisiana area about once a month, there are usually at least 4 employees present at all times and 3 of 4 open carry while in the store, good idea. They all carry semi-autos of some kind, some compacts, the smith open carries a 1911 cocked and locked. My question is how many gun/pawn shops that you frequent have employees that do carry openly while at the store?

I think all the guys at my regular shop open carry. I find it kind of comforting.

Which place is this?

I usually stick to 10-8 Tactical Police Supply for all of my firearm needs. All of the employees (and most of the customers) carry either openly or concealed in the store.

In one of 3 gun shops I have been to, I noticed employees open carrying. I imagine others were carrying concealed.

Not in the big stores like Cabela's or Sportsman's Warehouse
Last time I went to Cabela's, I think the sign said something like "no firearms past this point, except for those with a concealed weapons permit."
I'll have to read the sign next time I go there.

In the gun shops I frequent, most of the staff OC. Haven't seen this in any of the big box stores, but it wouldn't surprise me to learn that someone in the fine gun room or behind the counter at Cabela's has a CCW.

In every gun shop or pawn shop which carries firearms, I see at least one employee open carrying. It must be part of the work uniform. :p

In all seriousness, I'm glad that they do open carry. I know that I am safer because of it.

la

The name of the store is Bayou pawn and jewelry.Only store in Hammond that carries any handguns, from S&W all the way to Hi-point and lots of rifles and shotguns, new and used, and some ammo that isn't available at our local box store.A few magazines and speedloaders although I think they can get anything you may need,no re-loading supplies.Used to have a well trained smith, although I believe they have a different fella' now.

The owner of our local UPS store open carries every day. Some type of nice looking revolver

The grocery store I go to, there are always several employees OCing, it is the reason they get my business. And like someone else said I thought the gun was part of a gun shop employee's uniform.
