I carry a full load in the rifle, minus one. Thats so I can quietly remove the chambered round at the end of the day and push it back down into the magazine and then close the bolt over the top of it. On my person I carry 5 more rounds in a pocket in one of those red plastic cartridge holders that federal uses, cut down to only hold five.
But in the truck or back at camp I will have a full 100 round MTM box minus whats on my person and in my rifle. Overkill? Probably so, but once I have a pet load I load 100 at a time. That gives me enough to recheck zero with or for the friendly competitions that we occasionally have at camp.
