I had a spill about 10 years ago while doing 55MPH with a flip phone in my front pocket. I go ATTGAT, All The Gear All The Time, and aside from a dislocated finger which I yanked back into place myself, and a banged up helmet and face mask and shredded clothing, all of which needed to be replaced, I was OK.
The phone, however, must have gotten banged into me a few times as I rolled. My leg had a giant black and blue mark and felt like Thor himself whacked me with his hammer there. I could barely lift my leg to step up a curb, let alone stairs. Lots of pain there for few weeks, muscle must have taken a beating.
I figured if a phone could do that, a handgun would be a lot worse. So, no carry for me while I'm riding. Before I retired, I used to ride to work wearing a gun and suit, no more.
I got stopped one time by a Yonker's motorcycle cop when my suit jacket flapped up and revealed my gun, he also wanted to check out the collectible I was riding, but, that's another story. lol
