if dirt is any sort of problem, it's because a 38 cal bore bush is just for the barrel, get a 41 cal brush for the chambers

a 38 cal bore bush is just for the barrel

Wow! I honestly had no clue. I thought it did seem kind of loose when I used the bore brush in the chambers. I assumed I had simply gone all the way through the chambers and had started to squish the bristles together. Thanks for that info! I bought a multiple caliber cleaning kit. Would a .45 brush work in the chambers or will that be too big?

try it. or some people wrap a 38 brush with rags. you want it to fit tight if you want it clean.
ll chambers are bigger than the barrel, on every revolver i've seen.
sometimes i use something like jb polish, which is a mild abrasive too.

30 cal. Rifle chamber brush works perfectly for revolver chambers. Chuck it in a drill and make short work of the chambers.

After a good cleaning ditch the 130gr FMJ ammo. It is the dirtiest, most inaccurate ammo I've used or seen used. More than once I've had folks fail to qualify because the 130gr ammo is useless past the 10 yard line.

ditch the 130gr FMJ ammo.

I'm planning on it! I've got 150 rounds left. I actually prefer the 158gr rounds I've shot. I'm thinking about getting some 158gr SWCs from Freedom Munitions. Hopefully, I'll be a bit more accurate with those. I know a snub isn't the most accurate weapon (especially for a new shooter), but, damn, I can't even hit the board with the ammo I've been using. I do understand that a good deal of it is my fault. I'm just not a good shot yet, but using 158gr FMJs at a range over Father's day weekend, I was hitting steel targets 5 out of 6 times from about 12 yards or so.

I should have been more specific-- these are more than large enough.
I did say rifle chamber brush, though. [emoji6]
