Nope. It just seems a waste to use military primers when standard small rifle primers work just fine in .30 carbine. If they’re all you got, have at it. Just work your loads up.

#41 is special to me! Why? it was the 2th box of Primers I bought in the last 3-4 years

Might Frame it

I wish I could use 'em in my .30 Carbine loads.

I tried using them in my old Plainfield, but had a lot of failures to fire.

Like the others I see no reason not to use them. Actually since the 30 Carbine M1 is a semi auto rifle with a floating firing pin that's what the #41s were made for.

I found some #41's on Gunbroker a few weeks back for 8¢ per and will use them in my .30 Carbine. I don't think they could possibly be as hard as some of the Russian primers I've used! Truth be known, I use any primer that will fit the primer pocket of my .30 Carbine's. Yes, even small pistol and small pistol magnum. FWIW, I've chronographed this cartridge with all four different types of primers (SR, SRM, SP, SPM) and a variety of loads and found not enough difference in velocity to matter.

Thanks everyone, figured they were fine. Have more inventory of #41 for my AR’s than std small rifle, first time loading for carbine.
