I purchased two faded boxes of CCI Blazer 158gr +p swc .38 special off the shelf of a gun store and was well impressed after shooting a box of it. I don't have a chronograph but my hand tells me that these rounds were cooking along quite nicely from my S&W model 67. They had much more recoil and flash than the other +p loads I've shot and were extremely accurate out of my gun. Recoil was similar to shooting 158gr .357 out of an N-frame.

Perhaps the other +p loads I tried weren't really "+p" at all which made this ammunition surprisingly stout in comparison. Certainly all the standard .38 loads I've tried were unimpressive and made this the first time shooting a .38 that didn't make me feel like I was holding an expensive plinking gun, and was instead using a reasonable caliber.

This ammunition appears to be discontinued by CCI and I can find no other record or specs for it. Has anyone else ever used this ammo or seen it for sale? It was the best ammo ever put through my gun and cost far less than other premium brands in +p loadings.

I've shot Aluminum CCI Blazer .357 Mag rounds and found that the felt recoil was almost half that of full factory Remington UMC .357 rounds. It was almost like shooting normal .38 Spl rounds then shooting .357 rounds. I decided not to use them for practice any longer since the difference was so pronounced. I'm a little surprised you are saying the recoil feels stronger unless you are using Brass rounds instead of the Aluminum ones.
