CCW and Purchase

This may have been done before if so please excuse my ignorance. My question is just this; if in my home state N.C. my ccw allows me to purchase without having to go thru the formality of getting a purchase permit, would it work that way in any other state that honors my permit?

Gun shopping outside your home state is limited to long guns from an FFL dealer. No handguns at all and no sales from a an unlicensed individual. The home state laws are supposed to be observed so I guess it would be just like buying at home.

If you can convince a dealer to sell you a gun, that is, since most refuse out of state sales for fear of running afoul of the law. Maybe it happens in border towns where they are familiar with the next state's laws and do it regularly.

Correct you can only buy long guns out of state.
