Well it's that time again, and I thought I'd throw this out to see about suggestions from forum members. I thought I recalled we had at least one instructor in the area on our forum.

Try the Bullet Trap. They offer 'one stop shopping' with their class.

Another vote for The Bullet Trap. Everything is done on-site, and their prices are pretty competitive, especially if you're a member there.

The Academy for Firearms Training [(972) 263-4867 702 Davis St, Grand Prairie, TX 75050] is pretty good. When available, Ray Allen (the representative that helped pen the original CHL bill) teaches the legal aspects of the class and Constable R.L. Skinner teaches the deadly force portion.

This was one of the original one-stop shops in this area, if not the first. You can walk in off the street with just the fee for the course and leave with everything you need to send off to the state. They not only provide the guns and ammo, they even load your mags for you. ;)

The one down side is that the classes tend to be a bit large. Doesn't slow things down, but it's worth noting.

I did Bullet Trap as well and don't really have any complaints. Only slightly annoying part was having to come back to do the fingerprints later, but supposedly their guy is pretty good at the prints which lessens the chance Austin will reject them.

For the Fort Worth area, try On Target Firearms Academy, on hwy 377 in Whiskey Flats. One stop shopping including the papers and fingerprints. Very good class. good price.
