I took at look at the latest email advertisement from CDNN Sports today and unsurprisingly their prices have suddenly jumped up in response to the current craziness out there.

Featured in the advertisement:

- Para USA "multi caliber" marked stripped lowers: Only $500
- PTR-91 G.I. model in .308 - Only $1400
- Sig 551-A1 - Only $1900

A few weeks ago the PTR was selling for around $900 and the 551 was selling for around $1500. As for the lower, all I can say is "lol".

Why the hell would anyone buy a BCG for $400. i bought an entire pistol kit from JT two weeks ago and it's due to arrive Monday. Cost $550.

I looked at Buds and the local gunstore as I am considering selling an XM15 E2s that I do not shoot. I saw that a colt m4 semi auto clone 6920 is now apparently priced at $1700 to $2100, and Century arms AK semi autos that used to sell for $450 are now $900. Its panic buying and supply and demand, the gun dealers would like to thank Barbara, Barrak, and Joe for the gold rush as they will soon be millionaires. People were 5 deep at the local store at 11:00 this morning, and that local dealer told me he was 5 days behind on doing paperwork, and wouldnt even consider taking my SAR1 of my XM15 on consignment as he was too busy.......he suggested a note card at my local gun club, on the bulletin board, and I could name my price and probably sell both by the end of the day for cash!

Folks its gone plum nuts I have never seen anything like it.

FWIW, CDNN raised their prices on the Sig 551 and PTR a couple of weeks ago, around when the madness first started.

The price hike for these two items was "only" around 22%. I would not call that "gouging" (or profiteering) compared to some of the other craziness out there. 220% price hike, yeah maybe. But 22% is somewhat restrained in the current market.

You have to blame the idiots that drive up the market prices. The vendors are running out of product to sell. It's what the market will bare. I refuse to participate in these markets. Been there and seen it before.

The two complete rifles aren't that bad considering the other craziness around, but the $500 for the cheap Para lower is just outrageous. You can buy two Noveske Gen 2 chainsaw lowers for the same price.

But for me it's more the idea that they are willing to join in on the gouging. People tend to remember things like that.

The other side of the picture is, "what do they have to pay to get (whatever)?" If what they pay has gone up they aren't gouging. I suspect that manufacturers, importers and distributors are all charging more, but ultimately the retailer gets blamed.

If you think prices are too high, don't buy - or buy something esle - or look for sellers with lower prices, if you can find any. The Internet is your tool, if you chose to use it.

Not possible.

It is possible if you find a dealer that hasn't decided to gouge on prices. Most manufacturers have not raised their prices, it the sellers doing it. While they are out of stock, several of the more reputable online dealers still list them for right at $250.

Price gouging is a myth, invented and perpetuated by the ignorant. This is basic stuff, people. A company that doesn't raise it's prices no matter how irrational the reason for a rapid increase in demand (or decrease in supply) is doomed to failure. If you don't raise the prices, you sell out immediately while other companies are leaving you in the dust. There is no logical or reasonable reason to ever consistently sell out of a product that is hard to come by. If 10,000,000 people want your 10 AR15s @ $800, then raise the price! They compete with each other. How many would want them @ $1,000? How many at $2,000? Basic, common sense principles.

so glad I dont need or want anything as far as firearms. yall just remember in a few months, mama is gonna need to pay bills, buy Christmas etc. and some guys are gonna lose their ass when they got to sell some of this panic buys for half the cost or less....it goes on again...the gun scare ettc. my go on, but bills still got to be paid...thats when I will buy again. :)
