I recently bought one of these as an upgrade to the Shooting Chrony Beta Master that I've been using for the past year. The reviews were right about the CED M2 ... it's excellent and offers a significant increase in performance over the Beta Master. First off, it's a lot easier (more intuitive) to use to the point where a manual isn't necessary. Second, with the sensors being 2' apart rather than 1' and the fast clock speed, I think it's more accurate. My pet .308 load is moving about 75 fps slower than I thought it was if I believe the CED M2 rather than the Beta Master. This is important to know. I was using it in the shade yesterday with the screens on and didn't get a single error message. The USB interface is very convenient too. All in all, a great purchase.
One odd thing, when I downloaded yesterday's data, I noticed that there were two strings stored in addition to my string. This makes me wonder if the unit was used and returned or the files are there as examples or they were generated during a test to proof the unit? The velocities are low so I'm not sure what was used to generate the files. Here's a screen shot of the first two strings that weren't generated by me.
