Any members of the CAGC here? Anyone take part in activities there? I'm looking for a nice place to shoot and was able to pay a short visit this weekend. Didn't get to see much or talk to anyone for long but the 100 yard range is pretty nice looking.

CAGC
I've noticed a new one on the Lower Wetumpka Road in Montgomery, close to the FOP lodge. Seems like it was the Tri-County club, or something like that. There is also a shotgun club close to that locale. I've also been to a range out in the woods close to Shorter, but forgot the name. Seems the 'Smith at a gun store in Montgomery (Gun Works?) was behind it. There is a shortage of ranges in cent. Al. I usually end up going to my deer club to shoot, not a formal range, but does have a berm. The area around Montgomery (and Auburn) is growing so fast, the places to safely shoot are drying up.

BTW, davera, how 'bout them tigers?

CAGC location

It's 37 miles west of Auburn not too far off of US 80 and maybe 20 miles east of Montgomery. It's a bit of a drive for me but about the same as the place I shoot now, south of Lafayette off of 431. Of course, there is also the Uchee firing range in the Tuskeegee National Forest ... but that seems like a free-for-all to me.

Elrod - I'm a Georgia fan behind enemy lines. Mixed marriage ya-know. I'm for the Tigers in all games but one, my wife will root for the Dogs in all games but one.

Ouch~! that would be a 'fer piece for me too have to drive; with gas prices
on the increase all over central 'Bama~!

I here tell there is a range near Helena, thats free to John Q. Citizen; but
the Game Warden frequents that location, checking to see if you have an
up-to-date hunting license. Thats pretty cheap shoot'in ($24.00), for one
year~! Plus, it ain't too far from the house. ;) :D
