It's been a while since we had a get together so for those of you in or near Anne Arundel County:

Where: On Target in Severn, MD
When: Wednesday, July 6, 7pm

Check in here so we can get a head count. Those of us with memberships will be happy to share lanes so that you can keep expenses down if you are not a member.
 
My wife says that she thinks that she'll be there (hope that she doesn't show me up again with that 1911 :( )
 
Just got to thinking....

Anyone have any requests for things they'd like to try? That's always the best part of these things IMHO.

nico.....I saw that you're in the market.....whatcha lookin' at?

I'm bringing my Dan Wesson 5" 1911 and my CZ 75BD (I think nico was interested in one of these).

I'm currently trying to figure out what will be my carry piece when I move to PA and I'm curious about:

- Any subcompact 1911 (or any officer's sized frame really. I wonder how the shorter grip will work for me)
- Anything Para LDA (particularly the carry-sized ones)
- CZ 2075 RAMI
- Anything compact in .40 S&W (I've never shot anything in .40)
- Anything else that's just fun :)

If Spot77 comes, I'm sure that he'll have his CZ40. Not at all compact, but it should give you feel for the caliber. I'll also get him to bring his Bersa .380. Probably not the caliber that you'd want for carry, but would let you consider that sized frame.

I''ll have the usual suspects with me...USP9 for sure as well as a .22. If anyone wants to try the Hi-Point carbine, let me know.
 
Norton, my brother lives in your neck of the woods. I'm going to forward this thread to him. Hopefully he will be available. I'd make the drive and overnight at his house if I weren't tied up that day. Have fun!

can't make it. First Wednesday of each month is mandatory members meeting at my local "Gun Club".

Ruger P95 and P97, CZ40, and Bersa 380

Don'tforget that you canuse most pistol cal. rifles there too.

Well, after handling one back to back with an XD9 at The Gun Rack last night, I've decided I want a CZ75 SA. I'm just trying to decide whether spending the $500 on it is a good thing to do.

The CZ75 felt good in my hand when I handled it, but I didn't get a chance to fire it. I did like the CZ97 an awful lot though.

The XD would be a good choice too.....I shot the .40 a while back and it was very nice.

I'd say to check out gunbroker and the classifieds @ czforum.com. I'm all for supporting our local stores, but some serious cost savings can be had on these online...

At any rate, you can give my 75BD a shot and see how you like actually firing one. It's not an SA, but I imagine it's SA trigger pull is pretty close.

I'll try to be there, but since I am again out of work (left one job, then the job I thought I had didn't come through- they thought they'd have the budget for 2 positions, only got the budget for one, and the 2nd position was the one that was to be mine :banghead: ) I may not. I am looking for work locally but also in Phily, Pittsburgh and the NY area and so I can't promise I'll be in town.

If I'm in town I'll probably be there.

- Anything compact in .40 S&W (I've never shot anything in .40)

If I make it I guarantee that I'll have my new Taurus PT140 Millennium Pro (it is now one of my favorite guns), it will probably get more workout than any of my other guns. It definately qualifies as a compact .40S&W. I'll be more than happy to let you, and anyone who wants to try it, shoot a few mags out of it. To find me look for the guy in the yarmulke (I'll probably be the only one) and the smile (I'm almost always wearing a smile).

Nico, while $500 seems like too much money for any non-1911 to me, I think several CZ models plus the BHP are exceptions. I'll try to remember to bring my garden variety CZ 75B.

If I make it (most likely I will) I will definately bring:

-Taurus PT140 Millennium Pro

-CZ 75B

Since we are limited to 4 guns per lane there, I'll have to decide between the following likely choices for the other two (let me know if anyone has a preference):

-Charles Daly 1911 (though the slide no longer locks back on empties, a little embarrassing considering how much I've pushed them in the past...then again a "cheap" 1911 and the only problem after around 10K rounds is the slide won't lock back, hmmm)

-Winchester 94 in .45LC

-6" S&W 585 (I haven't brought it out for a while so I'll probably bring this over my other .357mags if I bring a .357)

-6" S&W 57 (pretty much my favorite gun)

-or a Ruger MkII

Was that your CZ97 that I shot a while back? I wouldn't mind comparing that to my 1911 now that I have some experience with .45
 
Just giving this a nudge to the top. I'm ready for Wednesday....did some trap last week but haven't had time to do any handgunning for a while.

Just to bring this back up to the top to remind people. The shoot is tonight, so Erica and I will see everyone there. Just look for a Steelers hat and that should be me. I'll be bringing along the following:

Springfield 1911 Milspec
Walther P99 .40sw
S&W 422

I haven't decided on a 4th yet but it may end up being either a Beretta 96 in .40 or a Ruger Super Redhawk in .44mag. It may also be a Colt Government 380, we'll see though like I said I haven't decided yet.
 
I'll be bringing Norton and the Admiral.


Oh wait.....a few guns too.
