I have 2 wasr 10/63s and think they are just fine. Century has corrected the major problems. I did spend an afternoon in the shop, filing, polishing, cleaning, and buffing some things so that it worked Better, something you need to do with WASRs IMO. They will function fine with out it, but work better afterwards. I polished the bolt body and hammer face where the bolt body resets the hammer. I made sure the weld on the gas piston was smooth. I finished the mag. wells with my file, ensured all my mags fit, and a few other minor adjustmets wherever needed. Most things would have resolved themselves with use) Then I refinished the wood, and Now I have 2 nice, very funtional AKs.
On my last trip to the range, I was able to keep my rounds in a small pie plate (4"?) freestanding at 50 yards, rapid fire. I was using my loose mixed-up ammo I have had for years lying in the bottom of my ammo can; it was a very random mix of Wolf & Golden bear (russian), Copper coated (chinese), some random hollow points (East German), and a few brass cased commercial rounds. So better groups are more than likely possible, shooting from a rest and with better/same ammo.
You have to love a semi auto center fire rifle that you can literally feed ANYTHING and it will shoot it. You read so many posts about certain rifles not liking certain ammo or even small differences is batches or lots causing problems.....Not with an AK!
They both shot remarkably the same.
