Is there a chemical way to remove Cerakote from a blade?

I've searched and some say yes but most seem to say no.

Some type of sand blasting seems universally accepted but I don't have a blaster and I'm guessing it will ruin the edge....?

Any experience out there in THR land?

Potentially a Buck 104 Compadre, 5160 steel.

I dont seem to have a rusting problem on a 1074/75 Condor Swamp Romper and i prefer no coatings...

So I started thinking, What would it take to do it?.

The Cerakote Cobalt is supposed to be chemical resistant.

I realize that.

But that doesn't necessarily mean chemical proof; hence the question.

Am I correct in assuming that blasting it with some sort of media tough enough to take off the cerakote would also damage the edge(s)?

You could also sand it off if you are patient enough. That shouldn't hurt the edge. You will need to develop a safe technique for sanding a blade as it is an activity with the potential for really nasty accidents.

It sounds like too much trouble.

But I'm curious, I've seen posts before saying they were going to change a color or the application wasn't done well so they need to have it re-done.

How do people remove it from guns with out ruining the edges?

Or are they adding a 2nd coat?

My guess is that people don't cerakote guns if they are really concerned with keeping all the edges & markings sharp.
