On October 20th the Wall Street Journal ran an article on Cerberus Capital Management and a proposed public offering for Freedom Group, Inc.
The article was illustrated with a nice color picture (unusual for the WSJ) of a young girl shooting a Bushmaster AR, with a neutral caption. I thought, how much things have changed! Ten years ago there would have been some kind of negative slant on it, even in a very conservative paper like the WSJ.
Cerberus apparently owns Bushmaster, Remington, Dakota Arms, Marlin, DPMS, Advanced Armament...
It says Cerberus's "thesis" is to consolidate a fragmented industry.
I guess this means you will be able to buy stock soon in the parent company of all those manufacturers.
